Malta 2022

Malta

It’s time for another dream vacation. This time I landed in Malta. An island is located in Southern Europe in the Mediterranean Sea.

A weekly ticket that covers the entire island makes travelling around Malta much easier. It can be purchased at the airport and the cost is 21 euros.

The first three days we spent on the charming island of Gozo, which can be reached by ferry(the cost is less than 5 euros). Beautiful sandy and rocky beaches, perfect azure water is a good plan for complete relaxation. You can go sightseeing in the late afternoon. I was impressed the most by the Ta ‘Pinu Sanctuary, which is located on the coast and offers an impressive view. While in Gozo you must go to Victoria City. There are 17th-century citadel towers standing above the city. This is the central point of Victoria and its biggest tourist attraction. In the main courtyard of the citadel there is the magnificent cathedral of St. Mary and the old prison.

The next stop worth seeing is Valletta – the capital of Malta. It is a classic example of a baroque city. It is one of the smallest and most beautiful capitals in Europe. Walking along the narrow streets, we can admire old tenement houses, numerous churches and monuments. The Triton Fountain, the Palace of the Grand Masters, the National Library or the charming Barrakka Gardens are definitely must see places. At the end I recommend a boat trip around Valletta.

I did not expect such impressions from Malta. I think there are still many places to discover on my island, but that I will leave for the near future.
